18 Apr Exciting Real Estate News Across The Carolinas!
The real estate market is heating up across the Carolinas! New townhomes and mixed-use projects are in the works for the Charlotte area, while home sales are up in Wilmington. Here are a few of the news stories we have our eye on this week:
Residential, mixed-use projects are being proposed across the Charlotte area
Residential mixed-use projects are at the top of the list for the April Charlotte City Council Zoning Meeting. Currently, rezoning is being sought out for land in Wesley Heights, Dilworth, Park Road, North Brevard Street and 10th Street. Additionally, there are several smaller projects seeking rezoning at South Tryon Street and Hawkins Street. For more information and to view the full list of proposed projects, click the link below.
Davis Lake area to receive over 200 townhomes
Charlotte’s Davis Lake area could soon receive more than 200 townhomes. Demeter Properties LLC has filed a rezoning petition to develop 125 two-story townhomes in the area, and D.R. Horton Inc. is planning 100 townhomes down the road. The targeted opening for the D.R. Horton townhomes is early 2017. A D.R. Horton spokeswoman stated that the site’s proximity to Northlake Mall and Interstates 77, 85 and 485 make this area highly desirable for residential real estate.
Brunswick County home sales surge from March 2015
According to a news release from the Brunswick County Association of Realtors, home sales in Brunswick County rose more than 20% in March this year compared to March 2015. Total home sales increased 14% between March 2015 and last month, from $55.6 million to almost $63.7 million. Cynthia Cumbie, CEO of BCAR, commented:
“Spring selling season is definitely gearing up in Brunswick County. Our Realtors are working hard and seeing positive signs of an active spring and summer in residential sales.”
