05 Jul Fairway of the Carolinas Volunteers at Bright Blessings
Last, Fairway of the Carolinas visited Bright Blessings to create birthday bags and cards for homeless and impoverished children. The gifts will be delivered to children in homeless shelters and at school to help make their birthdays brighter. Bright Blessings also throws a birthday party for the children with cupcakes and snacks so that their friends can participate! Mortgage planner Carolina Meulman enjoys volunteering at Bright Blessings each year and helping to bring these children joy. She said:
“Bright Blessings is an incredibly amazing organization. I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to volunteer with my co-workers for such a great cause. The knowledge that 1 out of 5 children are homeless is heartbreaking. Knowing that we helped place a smile on a child’s face means the world!”
Bright Blessings was founded in 2005 by Amy and John Cervantes as a mission to help brighten the lives of needy children and instill a sense of community service in their own children. What began as a monthly birthday program for children staying at the Salvation Army Center of Hope in Charlotte, is now a volunteer-led organization that impacts more than 5,000 homeless and impoverished children through its four core programs. Mortgage planner Rick Melville loved helping this wonderful organization! He commented:
“I can’t believe what great work the people at Bright Blessings do for the children in our community. I had no idea how many at-risk kids were in our school system without basic necessities like toothbrushes, toothpaste, and shampoo, let alone birthday presents. It made me feel proud that our team at Fairway was able to help their organization so they can help the children in the community.”
Fairway of the Carolinas is looking forward to our next chance to offer a hand and support this wonderful organization. To learn more about Bright Blessings and how you can help, click here.
