Fairway Prepares Dinner for Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte

Fairway Independent Mortgage of the Carolinas recently RonaldMcDonaldHouseofCLT_Aug2017volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte by preparing a meal for the families staying there. The mission of the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte is to provide a safe, affordable and caring “home away from home” for the families of children receiving treatment in Charlotte-area medical facilities. Our Fairway Team is passionate about the work of the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte and was committed to spreading joy and positivity while we were there preparing and serving the meal.

Senior Mortgage Planner Melissa Rose always looks forward to this volunteer event and the chance to brighten someone’s day. She shared:

“I look forward to this opportunity to serve every year. When these families are in the middle of chaos and one of the most difficult times of their lives, doing something as simple as fixing them a home-cooked meal goes a long way in giving them a boost in spirit and energy. It is almost hard for me to hear them say ‘thank you’ because it is the least we can do for them at this time in their lives.”

Mortgage Planner Rick Melville enjoys giving back to the community and supporting those in need. He said:

“This event is a great reminder of how fortunate we are. When you see families that are exhausted and in so much pain coming in from the hospital, it’s really fulfilling to be able to give them a hot meal. It may seem like a little thing, but it means a lot.”

Mortgage Planner Carolina Meulman is grateful to volunteer with her colleagues and appreciates the opportunity to serve others. She reflected:

“Volunteering with my work family at the Ronald McDonald house is always an awesome experience. Being able to provide a little bit of comfort to families going through such a stressful time is very fulfilling. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help.”

It was a wonderful evening, and everyone enjoyed being able to give back to such an outstanding organization. We always look forward to volunteering with the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.

Senior Mortgage Planner BettyAnn McCloud summed up the experience for the group:

“It is truly a blessing to serve others and just a heartwarming experience to be able to give back to the community alongside my Fairway family!”

Helping others in the community is something that our team at Fairway Independent Mortgage of the Carolinas holds close to our hearts. We look forward to this event each year and are excited for our next opportunity to help the Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte.
