Community Outreach

Fairway brings joy to our community!

Fairway believes in helping people. We know that means being present in our community, giving to others, and volunteering our time and talents to causes that are near and dear to our hearts in North and South Carolina. Sometimes those moments are small, like sending teams across the city with small tokens of gratitude to those serving our communities and spreading Fairway JOY. Other times, it can mean rallying around a wounded veteran to help him make a better life for his family. Below are some of the causes we support.

OneBlood- Share Your Power

OneBlood enhances the health and well-being of others through their word with blood and stem cell products and by facilitating scientific research. Fairway has recently partnered with them by hosting a blood drive at their main office location in Blakeney. Our branch held a full drive which helped 30 patients in need of blood. By the end of the decade, OneBlood says their unique ability to provide world-class transfusion and transplant medicine, technology and research will secure their position amoung the top five systems in the world.

Charlotte Loves Houston

In response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas, and surrounding areas, Fairway Independent Mortgage of the Carolinas formed the Charlotte Loves Houston team. The goal of this group was simple – bring together businesses, community organizations, and individuals that want to give back by helping the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Members of the Charlotte Loves Houston team collected supplies, recruited volunteers, and encouraged the community to donate the most-needed items at a supply drive. The goal was to fill an entire semi-truck trailer and raise money to cover the cost of gas for the trip from Charlotte to Houston. There were over ten drop-off locations for supplies leading up to the ‘Fill the Truck’ event, more than 80 volunteers came out to accept, organize, and pack the donated supplies, and at least 50 cars dropped off supplies to fill the truck.
